Böker
Böker Leo Damascus I
Böker Leo Damascus I (084) £245.95

A truly rare and unique piece of work and a must for your collection, blending the centuries-old art of hand forged Damascus with a piece of history. The Leo Damascus, a high performance Damascus steel, was made available to Boker through a noted European Damascus forger, Markus Balbach. The steel used in this knife is forged out of the barrel of the German battle tank Leopard I, thus Leo Damascus. This specialty steel is not available to the market and there is no material number even assigned to it because it was only used by the military. Herr Balbach was fortunate to acquire some for the exclusive use of Boker. A chromium-manganese and vanadium tool steel alloy was added to this extremely wear-resistant barrel steel. The result is a remarkably high hardness for Damascus steel (63-65 HRC). A very high performance Damascus. The pattern provided on the blade is labeled "small pyramid", providing a spectacular work of art; and as with all true Damascus, every blade is different. Handle material is hard coated 6061-T6 aluminium and features exotic desert ironwoods inlays. Liner locking. Includes certificate of authenticity and gift box. Serialised.

Overall length: 7 7/8 "
Blade length: 3 3/8"

Böker Leo Damascus II - NEW
Böker Leo Damascus II - NEW (1054) £257.95

The successor of our first knife with a Damascus blade forged out of the barrel of the German battle tank LEOPARD I. The edge holding ability is much higher compared to what other steel can achieve. A hardness of 65-67 HRc gives you an indication what to expect. Markus Balbach's capabilities are proven by his newest Damascus pattern: "Large Pyramid". Handle material is hard-coated 6061-T6 aluminum with Ziricota wood inserts. The clip can be switched for tip-up or tip-down carry. The knife includes a certificate of authenticity and a wooden presentation box.

Overall length: 8 1/8"
Blade length: 3 3/4"
Weight: 5.5 oz

Böker Damascus 588 by Dietmar Pohl
Böker Damascus 588 by Dietmar Pohl (112006) £285.95

It was high time for Boker to present a new fixed blade Damascus knife. Dietmar Pohl thought of the pure collector, but also of the user of such a knife in the field. That is why we chose stainless Damascus with 180 layers. Our Swedish supplier called this particular knife pattern "Odin's Eye". According to the Nordic legend, nothing can be hidden before the eye of Odin. Solid nickel silver cross guard and pommel guarantee a very solid construction. The blade is fastened by a screw at the end cap. Handle is Ziracote wood from Belize - a firmly structured, water-repellent wood. Includes solid wooden gift box and certificate of authenticity. Serialised.

Overall length: 7 3/8"
Blade length: 3 3/8"
Weight: 3.4 oz

Herb Derr
Custom Knives by Herb Derr (H.K. Derr), are each individually 100% hand made from start to finish. Mr. Derr started making knives in 1990 and in 1994, he became a full time knife maker. Just to state a bit of reasoning, when a knife maker goes "full-time" it usually means that there is enough demand for his work that he can make a decent living off of knife making alone. This is not to say that there aren't part time knife makers who yield the same level of demand - but it does make clear the fact that that particular knife maker's work is currently at a desirable level of demand.
From the tip of the blade to the butt of the handle, Herb goes all the way in creating a unique, one of a kind custom knife every time.
He also makes his own custom sheaths - usually using exotic animal skin inlays such as sting ray or ostrich skin - which are beautifully tanned and hand tooled.
Perhaps Mr. Derrs greatest talent is hand forging stunning, 2700 layer, oil quenched, Nickel / Carbon damascus blades. These babies can be sharpened to a razors edge, and hold that edge for a great length of time.
Herb Derr was born and raised in southeastern Pennsylvania. I went to college in West Virginia and graduated in 1974 with a BA majoring in art. I stayed after graduation and now proudly call West Virginia home.
My damascus is made from carbon steels and nickel. I make layered damascus as well as mosaic and powdered metal pieces. My heat treating is all edge quenched in oil to keep a softer spine back and hardened edge of blade. My blades are blued (hot blued) to give the carbon steel a protective coating and also to enhance the color contrasts in the metals. Everything done to my knives has been completed by myself from steel making to sheaths. I even get time occasionally to carve some of my handles in horn. Presently my favorite subjects are reptiles and fish.

Gary LeBlanc £327.95

"Gary started by making "kit knives". After retiring in 2000 I graduated to grinding and heat treating my own blades. He now does everything from original blade design through making my own leather sheaths. His primary areas of interest are fixed blade hunting and fishing knives,he is primarily self-taught, with heavy reliance on some of the great books available and the mentorship of members of the Knifemakers Guild, of which I am a 2006 voting member. I use various steels, either flat or hollow grind and primarily use natural handle materials, or Micarta if the knife is going to be put to hard use and extreme conditions.
